Bridge to Learning and Literacy @ Harvard
The Harvard Bridge Program is an education and training program open to all Harvard staff and faculty. Participants can select from a range of classes and services to meet their individual needs. Classes are on campus before, during and after work hours. The program meets the needs of learners at all levels.
Bridge classes include academic writing, business writing, college preparation, career exploration, computer skills, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), high school diploma preparation, office skills, TOEFL preparation, advanced pronunciation and more.
Bridge students may also request one-on-one tutorial sessions, including citizenship preparation. Career development services include individual counseling, professional internships, and job shadowing opportunities. There is a need for staff members interested in volunteering as tutors at the Bridge Program.
The Bridge Resource Center has a library with textbooks and resources for career exploration, tutoring techniques, college preparation and application, and test preparation, and a computer lab with English vocabulary and pronunciation software, typing tutorials and internet access. The Resource Center is available before, during, and after typical work hours.
