Emergency Backup Assistance @ Harvard

When you must go to work and your regular care arrangements for a child or elderly relative are unavailable – a child is mildly ill, a caregiver is absent, a facility is closed – you may be eligible to use Harvard’s Emergency/Back-Up Care benefit.

Harvard has contracted with a local agency to provide in-home caregivers for the children or elderly relatives of faculty and staff on an emergency back-up basis. The number of placements per year is limited, and the faculty or staff member pays a subsidized corporate rate.
